A toy manufacturer commissioned me to design a mosaic border for the entryway of his vacation ranchhouse in northeastern New Mexico. Its ceiling is groin-vaulted (two intersecting arches), which he wanted treated in a manner visually reminiscent of both the Southwest and Italian Renaissance.
